A cheap office chair may seem like a good idea when you’re on a budget but you may find that it costs you more in the long run.
I once obtained a cheap office chair which I later found was the cause of some quite considerable back and arm pain. Whilst I had saved a few pounds by buying a cheap, second hand chair I had caused myself some extreme physical stress resulting in back, shoulder and arm pain. The chair was clearly a false economy.
I now have an excellent Bodybilt ergonomic chair which I obtained from some lovely people at High and Mighty Seating. They were not happy for me to take any old chair. Instead they spent some considerable time talking to me about my work, the way I sit and the pain that I had experienced. They then measured me up in all of the important places, including the seat, and matched my body shape and size with several ergonomic chairs for me to choose from. I was pleased to find that the one I had chosen was not as expensive as I would have expected.
Take my advice and don’t scrimp on your office chair. If, like me, you spend a large chunk of your life sitting in front of a PC you owe it to yourself to ensure that you are comfortable. Get yourself a good quality ergonomic chair and you will save your back from pain.
