Facebook hacker message status has users deleting themselves!

If you’re a fan of Facebook you will no doubt take an interest in your friend’s status messages. When you read a warning type status messages you should first of all check that the ***WARNINGS*** are TRUE.

Facebook Warning Sign

For Example:

*FACEBOOK HACKER * New problem found…. Hacker in door in our friends list!….We are now listed as friends of ourselves! You need to delete yourself from your friends list to close the door to hackers. To do this … Go to Account, go to Edit Friends, search for your name on the list and click the X to get your name removed. . Just deleted mine . . please pass on!!

In actual fact someone has found a strange bug in Facebook that’s all it is! When you search through your friends list you will see yourself on your friends list. Even if you try and “delete” yourself as a friend as many people have done, you’ll continue to show up as a friend once you come out of Facebook and go back in.

Your account has not been hacked it is a bug in the software, nothing dangerous! Passing on ***WARNINGS*** to friends without knowing if it is true or not is more harmful!

Often these types of message are originally thought up to get people to panic or to join groups. You might have seen one about a group protesting to stop Facebook charging a fee to use their services? I would think if Facebook were going to charge a fee you would see it confirmed on the News or directly from Facebook themselves.

Many groups like this are set up is so group administrators are able to send you spam and even links to their own websites that has nothing to do with the group. This is where you’re more likely to pick up a virus. That’s why Facebook warn you before leaving their website with something like “Do you trust the source before leaving Facebook”

Before taking action or worrying about any warnings you might see on friends status messages do a little research. Just copy and paste the warning in to the search area of Google, often you can see the real facts about any pass it on messages.
