Two In Court Over Handcufferd MP

Two men have appeared in court over the handcuffing of a minister to a fathers’ rights protestor outside a conference in Greater Manchester.

Jason Hatch, 34, of Cheltenham, is accused of grabbing the arm of former Children’s Minister Margaret Hodge.

Jonathan Stanesby, 41, of Ivybridge, Devon, is said to have chained himself to her for about 40 minutes outside The Lowry Hotel, Salford, in November 2004.

Both men denied false imprisonment at Manchester Crown Court and were bailed.

They are due to reappear on 8 May, for their trial in which Mrs Hodge is due to give evidence.

I hope they get compensation for having to put up with a minister for over 40 minutes! That was a joke in case anyone try to take me to court!

I used to believe labour, but it only seems to work for the people in leading, i could not even get the police out when i rang 999 the other night.

Nothing serious enough, only three drain holes in a row, without covers!!

Told me it was a highways issue?

Yes clearly! But it was 10.30pm down a dark road, and i did not have my yellow with me.

All i knew was it was DANGEROUS and my sister nearly fell down it, 999 should have helped me, someone had taken the drain covers away, probably a yob out on the town, i could not leave it like that for someone to fall down like my sister nearly did, it would break someones neck for sure, so now if i ever see a dead body in a drain do i call highways or 999?

Why should i wait for highways to turn up like the police suggested I do?

What if an old lady was walking from the Bingo hall round the corner and fell down it? She would have most probably died from the injury.

My family waited 50 minutes and still no one turned up, i rang 999 again and she said the same thing to me, its only by chance i saw a police car driving and flagged them down, i just wanted to go home as it was freezing, even when i tried to show them the danger they tried to make excuses not to deal with it, whats right anymore? thats why people do things like handcuff Margaret Hodge, FRUSTRATION because no one listens to important issues.
